Instructional differentiation is the key to success for all students. As a visual arts teacher, I seek to motivate students and athletes in ascertaining their inner strengths and abilities and discovering what truly motivates them. I aim to provide a stimulating learning environment that encourages students to trust their own thoughts and opinions, while fostering a safe space for students to realize their full potential.
Through my teaching and coaching experiences, I have found the method of facilitating rather than dictating to be the most conducive for learners. I have realized that if students construct their own learning and growth experiences, they not only retain information longer, but they also operate with more confidence in their abilities. I am passionate about working with all levels of students and athletes and continuously strive to be a positive influence in their lives.
I have come to realize how vital education is in the preparation for young people to achieve success in all endeavors set before them. Within each student, I strive to instill a love of learning and a desire for constant pursuit of knowledge, new experiences and personal improvement.
What you need to know
about me is that
I work gladly and tirelessly to create a sense of community. Students around me are encouraged and engaged to think beyond themselves and work to a common good – this is exampled in several efforts I have undertaken such as “Wish Week” for which each year I unite hundreds of students and staff to participate in creating a larger-than-life theme for the wish week honoree. Or that by creating a Unified Art Class, I combine students of all abilities into a classroom dedicated to not just making art, but to making connections through the art making process.
Please contact me at your convenience to set up a meeting so that we may discuss in greater detail how my qualifications would best meet the needs of your educational programs. Thank you for your time and consideration.
